Mud rugs are traditionally particularly finely woven. Typical of Mud rugs is the garden/herati (field) pattern, which can be seen beautifully in the detailed view. This Mud shows one of the two typical patterns of hand-knotted lace rugs originating from Persia, which immediately identifies every connoisseur as a Mud. It is made of the finest new wool, which has been spun by hand to be very hard-wearing. The silk content provides this rug with a fine sheen and the particularly well-defined pattern.
